"Defense is purchasing 8 new training aircraft and 2 flight simulators with associated teaching aids. Since 1988, the Elementary Military Pilot Training (EMVO) has had 13 Pilatus PC-7 training aircraft. The end of their technical lifespan is in sight. State Secretary Gijs Tuinman reported this to the House of Representatives today."
"More simulation and fewer training aircraft
The new training aircraft are intended to fly 2,150 hours per year and to allow a maximum of 60 students to start the training. This requires 8 aircraft, of which 6 are operational, 1 as a logistic reserve and 1 in maintenance. In addition, Defence requires a mix of ground-based training equipment to train 2,650 hours per year. The flight training will make greater use of simulation, which means that fewer training aircraft will be required than now.
The required instruction, maintenance and management capacity will be virtually the same after the replacement. Defence outsources the maintenance of the simulators to the supplier. As a result, no additional personnel will be required.
Defense expects delivery of the new training aircraft and associated equipment in the first half of 2027."
Foi-me dito que a Pilatus foi a escolhida, mas vamos ver
