Fully operational National Children’s Hospital in Kyiv (UA) was hit and partly destroyed by a RU cruise missile on 8 JUL 2024.

Here we unambiguously show that the missile was highly likely a RU Kh-101 missile descending for attack normally.

First, the missile seen in the published high-resolution footage of the attack (https://t.me/Tsaplienko/56581) appears to be essentially identical to RU air-launched cruise missile Kh-101, which were used that day in russian missile attack (per UA Air Force https://x.com/KpsZSU/status/1810283489670889923
).

Second, we estimated the length of the missile (7.4 m +/- 10%) from the video -- it is consistent w/ the known length of Kh-101 (7.45 m).

Similarly, we also estimate the missile's terminal velocity:

≈177 m/s (636 km/h) +/- 10% (rough estimate)

This is close to (albeit slightly below) the published cruise speed lower limit of Kh-101 (700 km/h, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kh-101)

Finally, the turbofan jet engine sound of the cruise missile can be very clearly heard in this video (shot w/ a window open).

The engine “whine” can be heard all the way down to the impact, indicating its normal operation.

In summary, contrary to some “conspiracy” theories, Okhmatdyt National Children’s Hospital in Kyiv was highly likely attacked by an intact RU Kh-101 air-launched cruise missile, controllably descending to its target (hospital toxicology building) under its own power.

Yeah, they can always claim that:
1) all the videos have been edited
2) the turbofan sound is [not sure what's their excuse]
3) slow speed seen in the video is AIM120 magically traveling at ~ Mach 0.5.
4) 20 kg warhead can collapse half of a brick building and damage another one

So, apparently Russia applied the same tactic in Niu-York as they did south of Avdiivka. They found an entrance, created a tunnel and, with success, advanced all the way into the rear of Ukrainian forces. Fighting is underway in the southern part of Niu-York.

Ukraine needs 128 F-16 fighter jets to reach parity with Russia in the skies.

This was stated by Volodymyr Zelensky at the Ronald Reagan Institute in Washington.

"The problem with F-16s is the number and dates. But let's be honest... Russia uses 300 aircraft against Ukraine every day. We had a decision about 10-20 [F-16s]. Even if there are 50, it's nothing. We are defending ourselves, we need 128" Zelensky said.


The Ukrainian President also thanked for the promise to provide Kyiv with new air defense systems, but at the same time emphasized that such systems are still not enough to protect Ukrainian cities well.

Additionally, one of the images released by the SBU shows markings on another remnant of the missile that hit the hospital. These markings include the numbers “840708036”, “~234452”, and “45 • 14” . Similar markings using this same format  are also visible on a remnant from a Kh-101 that was descibes as having been shot down over Ukraine on December 29, 2023. Some components were turned into a keychain and put up for sale on a website called AirHubStore:
