"JJMA is under contract to the Korean shipyard; Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction Company to provide sign support for the Korean Navy amphibious ship LPX.
LPX is an 18,500 ton displacement ship carrying helicopters,
VSTOL aircraft, hovercraft, troops and vehicles."
2.SMART-L contracted for South Korean LPX
Recently, TNNL and the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) signed a contract for the delivery of a SMART-L Volume Search Radar to be installed on an LPX platform.
SMART-L is an advanced 3D multi-beam radar, which provides a long-range coverage of 400 kilometers. State-of-the-art technology in combination with refined signal processing guarantees excellent performance, especially against stealthy targets and ballistic missiles.
This contract is the result of a careful selection procedure by the ROK Navy, and constitutes the introduction of TNNL long-range radar systems in the ROK Navy. As such, it is a substantial addition to the TNNL presence in Korea. It will also be the introduction of SMART-L on an LPX-type of vessel.
At present, SMART-L is already in service with the Royal Netherlands Navy and the German Navy. The long-range radar is a member of a larger family of radar systems, that also includes S1850M. This system will be installed on board of the new HORIZON frigates for the French and Italian navies and the new TYPE 45 frigates for the Royal Navy.
Lamento.
Cumprimentos
